What your child’s day will look like
Focusing on composition, color theory, and values, this class allows students to experiment with various medium techniques, including clay, watercolor, mixed media, acrylic, and tempera. 90 minutes. Ages 7-9. THIS WEEK: We’re starting a wild rumpus this week for Maurice Sendack, a beloved children's book illustrator best known for his work “Where the Wild Things Are”. One of the most celebrated authors in children's book history, Sendak is credited for pioneering a more realistic portrayal of childhood and the scope of children's emotions. Students will focus on line and form with this illustrative ink drawing inspired by Sendack’s detailed and expressive style. Encouraging storytelling through images, they will have the opportunity to add their own embellishments as they depict this playful monster. Dress for a mess!
