About Aaliyah

As a peer educator I have learned the skills necessary to facilitate sessions with students around my age, but I believe what what captivates me the most is my love of young children and seeing their advancement into mature readers, writers, or even mathematicians. I originally started as a teachers assistant for about four years aiding first, second, and third graders. Then I went on to organizations like READ ALLIANCE, tutoring ESL students in reading and homework. Having gotten my students through college math courses and even High school sciences and maths, I really love what I do. I take the time to make sure that each of my students develop to the highest of their ability and I can cover a wide array of subjects. Having been a student in need of this one on one attention, I know exactly how it feels to be on the other side of the table and what it takes to cross it.
