About Allison

Hello, all! I am Allison, an avid dyslexic reader (yes, you read that right)! I am an out-of-the-box tutor-- I use cartoons to teach rhetorical analysis to AP Language students and comic books to teach Shakespeare. I am passionate about working with all types of students, but I have a special place in my heart for students who, like me, battle with learning disabilities. My own experience in overcoming learning disabilities has armed me with all the tricks in the book to help students succeed. I am a first year PhD student in English at the University of Georgia. I am endorsed to teach English and Social Studies, I have been working as a tutor since I was a high school student in Northern Virginia, and I most recently held a position mentoring/tutoring Georgetown University, working specifically with athletes,
