About Ally

I am a grad student at Boston College working toward my Masters of Clinical Social Work. I also intern at Andover Elementary working in the special ed department. I have been babysitting since I was a kid myself! I was also a certified swim instructor for kids 1-12. So, it is safe to say if I can teach 10-15 kids how to swim I should be just fine with your kiddos! I would say that de-escalation would be a top skill for me. When you are teaching 10-15 young kids to swim it is important to kindly and swiftly work through any problems that may arise. Next, I would say staying calm during stressful or crisis situations is another important skill I possess. I worked on a crisis hotline for 3 years and have learned to be clear headed and composed. Lastly, I would say my experience as a lifeguard for 5 years has helped me understand first aid. I have seen my fair share of wounds and have a solid understanding of what to do!
