Hi there! My name is Alyssa, and I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia! I currently have about 5 years of informal childcare experience. I have been caring for My niece and nephew since they were born! My nephew has mild autism and ADHD, and I've learned a lot just by caring for him over the years. I am currently in the process of becoming a registered behavior technician, so maybe I can help not only my nephew, but every child that may be struggling with similar disorders. I have previously worked at a daycare as a co-teacher for 3-4-year-olds. I love making art and doing fun crafts. I love science projects and experimenting! I enjoy being outdoors. When I have free time I'm usually spending time with friends and family! A little fun fact about me is I love creating music! I can play the guitar and ukulele, and a little piano, but I'm still learning!

We interviewed Alyssa and we all liked her. She was great with communication prior to her start date and about her needs and expectations as our part-time nanny. She asked that her start date be pushed back a week and communication slowed down a bit. The day before her start date, I followed up and she mentioned that circumstances had changed which prevented her from working with us. Her message was very professional, though a tad late as we had been planning around having her start. I'm not sure what the circumstances were but if it was something unmanageable on our end, it would have been helpful to know upfront (adjust hours, pay, etc). The missing two stars reflect our experience in the hiring process and the lack of communication and follow-up toward the end. I am also basing dependability on our experience with her, and can't speak on her dependability once she is in a position. I don't doubt that she could be great at a position that meets her needs.
