My naturally patient and nurturing personality allows me to connect well with children. Specifically, as a nanny, I cared for 2 children; a boy from 5 months old until age 7, & a girl from newborn to age 4. We had a great time playing outdoors, reading books, imaginative play, crafts, etc. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a Pediatric Sensory Integration Clinic, I provided individual therapeutic intervention sessions for children with Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, and other developmental delays. Choosing meaningful activities to achieve these milestones is very important to me. I am able to adjust the activities to the child's skill level, to increase maximum participation and enjoyment. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a skilled nursing facility, I assisted the elderly to achieve their highest level of function while recovering from medical setbacks. Additionally, I developed strategies to help them maintain their skills during activities of daily living.
