I taught H. S. English Language Arts for 24 years; retired in 2018. Well-versed in test prep, including STAAR, Pre-AP and AP English, PSAT/SAT. I have taught all levels of high school, but mostly 10th-grade, regular and Pre-AP. Since retiring, I have tutored in a variety of situations: after-school, providing homework and organizational support to students attending brick-and-mortar school, supporting/supervising students doing virtual school from home, and summer sessions to stave off learning loss. I am very familiar with the Connections Academy online platform and have some familiarity with the UT Virtual High School platform. As a certified and experienced teacher, I have many tools in my toolbelt. Whether you're looking for homework help or your child is genuinely struggling in his/her Language Arts class, I have the knowledge and skills to help them be successful. Angie tutored my son during the summer to ensure that he did not have any learning lost and that his progression to 10th grade would be smooth. Angie was very organized and developed a lesson plan for them to follow. I asked my son how his experience was with Angie and he said "very good" . Depending on my son's needs during the school year, we may continue working with Angie during the school year. If not, we are definitely planning to work with Angie again next summer (2024), if she is available.
