Aretha was a caregiver for my mother for the last 4 years. She was absolutely wonderful, and I can't say enough great things about her. First, she was unbelievably reliable. She never, ever missed a day of work. She even was there after surgery and even was there just days after a pretty major car accident in which she was hurt. She would be there whenever she was needed and was always available to help. She went out of her way to be there for my mom. Even when her car broke down, she managed to get there on the bus. She was also very thorough and professional in all aspects of her work. She followed up on my Mom's needs and made sure she had all the necessary supplies and items needed for her daily living. The place was always very clean, and my Mom's house was more organized than I think I can ever remember. She also did a great job of helping my mom with any aspects of daily living that were appropriate. In addition, she was a GREAT cook, and my mom just loved her cooking. The best thing about Aretha, however, wasn't anything I have so far mentioned. The best thing was her very genuine kindness in dealing with my mom. She would give her pedicures and massages for her legs when her arthritis bothered her. She would also take the time to talk with Mom. She listened to all her stories, and she always treated her with respect. She formed a wonderful bond with my mother and became her best friend in her last years. I will forever be grateful to Aretha for her wonderful care for and relationship with my mom.
