It is trite, but true, there is a wisdom that comes with age that cannot be replicated. I like caring for seniors because they have so much to to offer those who take the time to listen. Whether it be in their humor, stories, or even quirks, seniors have taught me so much about the world and myself. I subscribe to the old adage "You can learn something from every person you meet". In my life, I have been blessed to be a listening ear and in many cases, friend, to several seniors. Seeing the way interacting with someone who is truly invested in them and making a difference in their life lights them up is incomparable. It's a privilege to serve them compassionately and with the dignity they deserve. One thing you should know about me is I follow the golden rule, "treat others as you would like to be treated". When I'm interacting with a senior, I am treating them how I would want someone to treat my grandparent or me if I am fortunate enough to reach my golden years.
