About Chauncey

I have provided senior care for over 10 years in facilities and private in home settings. A bit about my history. My grandmother had a stroke when I was 14. She was paralyzed on one side of her body. I helped my mother care for her in our home for approximately a year before she was moved to a nursing home due to health complications beyond our expertise where she received end of life care. The nurses and care staff were less than compassionate to say the least. After that, I knew that it was the field I needed to be in. I started working as a CNA in a nursing home when I was 16 and continued for about 4 years. I also worked as a restorative aide. I cared for 50+ residents in a nursing facility for skilled to assisted living (most of the time understaffed and the only CNA on the floor). I loved my residents and took great pride in caring for them while preserving their dignity. I took time away for college and worked in the accounting field for about 12 years.
