Hi there! My name is Chelsea. I'm 32 years old and have been tutoring children since 2014. I have experience assisting with reading (elementary to high school), math (up to calculus), and science (up to early college level). Prior, I was a high school science teacher for two years in South Carolina and more recently I have worked as a summer instructor for the North Carolina School for Science and Math (NCSSM). My tutoring style is to adapt to the needs and interests of my student. I can assist with homework, standardized test prep, or I can curate custom educational programs targeting the specific needs of your student. My goal is to ensure our time is not only productive but fun! For example, I have a student who is enthusiastic about acting and movement. We have used plays in reading and writing assignments and physical games while learning new phonics sounds. Families and I usually agree on a fixed tutoring time once or twice a week. I look forward to hearing from you.

It has been an absolute delight to get to know Chelsea. She is so friendly, kind, warm and attentive with our children. As a reading tutor, she is patient and thorough and always tweaking the lesson plan to meet our daughter's needs. Chelsea comes on time, well prepared, with a positive attitude and keeps her on task the whole hour. She does a great job updating us on what techniques are working well. We can really see our daughter's progress and confidence in her reading ability since she started working with Chelsea. As a babysitter, Chelsea is fun and safe, she keeps our son and daughter engaged in games and activities they both enjoy, feeds them and has them tucked in bed before we come home. They always tell us they had a fun time when she babysits. We adore Chelsea and feel so fortunate to have her help!
