About Cristen

I love spending time with kids! Currently, I teach grade school children in small online groups. My students are afforded a quality curriculum in reading, poetry, math, and history. In the past, I volunteered at the Brooklyn Public Library as a tutor. Education is really important to me! Also, I worked as a summer camp counselor at a sleepaway camp for 13 weeks where I was entrusted with 8 campers ages 9-10. At camp, I was responsible for their health, hygiene and safety. Some of my campers required special care because they had asthma, eczema, insomnia, and ADHD. I made sure to create a safe and fun environment. Together we made crafts, played games, learned new skills, and finished daily chores. With 2 younger sisters of my own (ages 4 & 9), I have learned patience and positivity. I've learned to love drawing, dancing, and dressing up. Children have such wonderful imaginations. I believe that all children should have the space to express themselves.
