About Elias

Hello! Helping students to achieve success on their own terms has become a passion of mine since I began tutoring 3 years ago. I tutor K-12 and early college in a variety of subjects including math, physics, French, writing, and test prep, and I have experience working with students with behavioral issues and certain learning disabilities. My approach focuses not just on the subject matter but also on helping the student become more confident in their own abilities, as that can often be a larger obstacle to success. I first take some time to get to know the student and their learning style so that I can tailor my teaching style to match. I guide them and answer questions, but I also encourage students to make attempts at their work even if they are not sure, with the understanding that making mistakes is not just acceptable, it's good and necessary. This patient, constructive approach helps to instill students with both the skills and the confidence to handle difficult assignments.
