About Elizabeth

I have a BS in Education. I have experience working with students ages 4-12 in person and online. I have taught at a Nature Preschool in WI, an Outdoor Kindergarten in Lynnwood WA and for 3 years, owned and operated an Outdoor Kindergarten-First Grade school before moving across the water. I currently tutor students and teach at a climbing gym. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions at the library. Sometimes, tutoring can be more than just strengthening a students knowledge in a subject area. Many students need to learn problem solving techniques, healthy coping skills when frustration comes up and an understanding of why the learning is important for them. Once the student comprehends these other aspects, the desire to learn becomes more intrinsic rather than forced. I struggled as a student when I was younger and those experiences are what motivate me to help others and why I'm passionate about teaching.
