About Emily

Hello, my name is Emily and I was a tutor for the Illinois Tutoring Initiative for a year back in 2022. Since then, I have been doing my own tutoring outside of the organization! I majored in English in college, so I specialize in English tutoring. Along with that, I took all honor and AP classes during my time in high school and struggled with test anxiety so I can help with the technical and emotional aspects of test taking! I originally went to school to be an educator, so I have taken a multitude of classes for educational tutoring and teaching. During my time in the Illinois Tutoring Initiative, I went through a rigorous 20 hours of training in order to participate in the program as a tutor, so I am professionally trained as well. I believe in the importance of education, and have experience helping out students with special needs and learning impairments, and I'd love to help your child out with their education!
