About Gretchen

Though I have a graduate degree from Columbia in English and am a published author, what has been my dream job is to work with dogs! I simply want to adore what I do, and anyone who knows me also knows I am in love with canine furry friends, also, cats, and, really, any animals ... the classic animal lover. I have two rescue kitties, I had a rescue English Bulldog, and will adopt another when I have my own place again. An ex once sent me a sticker saying, This is you, Gretch!: Sorry I'm late. I saw a dog. I am quite comfortable handling multiple dogs at once, as my family has had three big dogs at one time: a Malamute/Husky mix, Border Collie, and a Retriever/Beagle mix. I also used to volunteer with my sister at an animal shelter. I am an athlete (as well as a drummer), and physical activity is vital for me. Thus, not only do I thrive on walking dogs, but taking them for light runs is equally a pleasure, should this be of interest for you

Gretchen has taken care of our cat and apartment when we travel for many years. She is completely trustworthy, conscientious, caring and makes our trips worry-free. Our cat loves her. She is a natural with animals and our cat goes straight to her as soon as she arrives something he rarely does with visitors. Gretchen brings a lovely presence to any environment and you will feel secure and content that your pets and home are in good and loving hands.
