About Helen

For approximately five years, I provided care for children in environments ranging from daycare to public schools through the Board of Education and YMCA. During my experience as a paraprofessional, I worked primarily with special needs children ranging from ages 7-12. I provided one to one tutoring services in reading and math, as well as encouraged the children to participate in socialization activities to foster growth and development in the classroom. At B&B Daycare, I broadened my knowledge by working with infants as young as 6 months old to pre-adolescent children (11-12 years old). The daycare implemented a structured educational program to engage children in various developmental stages, and I enjoyed being able to share in their learning process. I co-facilitated managing the classroom, encouraging the children to participate in activities, and supervised free play. I feel I have become well rounded and versatile in my ability to adapt to a number of different settings.
