Hello! I am currently pursuing my Masters in Teaching Reading/Literacy Learning Degree at University of San Francisco . I have now worked in elementary school classrooms for several years as a teacher's assistant and student teacher. I received my undergraduate degree at UC Davis where I studied American Studies, with an emphasis on youth and education. This spring semester I am on leave from school, but in the past semesters, I have worked closely with students 1:1 in developing their literacy skills. I have been practicing using research based practices, along with assessments, to inform my tutoring curriculum. In general, I have a passion for children's literature and love working with students on their reading journeys. I am a firm believer in emergent curriculum- letting student's interests drive instruction.
