I am a positive and energetic provider with over 10 years of experience with little ones! I have worked as both a nanny and early educator here in Portland with infants, preschool, and school-age children. I am currently putting out feelers for a part-time nanny position with a start date in October; ideally this family will share my values of social, economic and environmental justice! Some of my favorite activities to do with kiddos include: neighborhood walks, gardening, art, and baking. Most of all, I love learning the unique pushes and pulls of each child's mind, and nurturing those interests accordingly. I try to practice a philosophy of recognizing, appreciating and redirecting tricky behaviors rather than a punitive approach. We’ve been part of a 2-toddler nanny share since 1/23, and Jay has become an integral part of our family life. They are a skilled and reliable childcare provider, committed to supporting the development of the kiddos they care for, and willing to work with ever-changing family needs to help the group work well. Jay is very good at identifying the conditions in which they thrive, and has strong communication skills. Jay is very good at getting out daily and connecting with neighborhood friends.
