About Joan

I am kind, compassionate, loving, caring and lots of fun! I am very responsible with a high level of integrity. I love people, children, animals and nature. I am playful and attentive. I began babysitting when I was 12. In my twenties, I worked at the San Diego Opera where I was the in house nanny. I was also part time nanny to two boys for six years. I've cared for my great-niece for the last year since she was just 3 weeks old. I moved to Los Angeles where I primarily worked in business administration while also doing childcare part time. When My big sister was diagnosed with brain cancer, I stopped working to be her full time caregiver. She developed dementia that became so severe I was bathing, changing her diapers and feeding her. I also have cared for my brother who has traumatic brain injury for over 15 years. I am experienced in the care of children and adults of all ages with both physical and intellectual/neurological disabilities.
