About Joanna

Hello! My name is Joanna, and I would love to help you achieve your academic goals. I am an alumna of the George Washington University, where I majored in Public Policy and minored in Philosophy. During my time at GW, I was a Learning Assistant for the Intro to Astronomy courses. I was trained through the graduate-level Learning Assistant course at GW to help students learn science on a conceptual level and merge high-level physics and math ideas with tangible applications. Before coming to GW, I have been an elementary math tutor (2 years), an ESL tutor (3 years), a Mandarin Chinese tutor (2 years), a piano teacher (1 year), and a debate coach (4 years). I have worked with students from ages 5 - 21. I have always been enthusiastic about helping students reach those "aha!" moments in their studies, and my goal is to help students feel more confident about the subjects I help tutor them in.
