About Joanne

Hi! I spent the last decade of my life working towards a Master's Degree in Education and then I taught for 3 years. I loved it! But in that time I also started a family, and my priorities have since changed. I decided to step back and serve my community in a different way. I have always adored and admired the elders of my own family, even in their most difficult moments when we began to realize that a higher level of care was needed. I have had 3 personal relationships with older people having dementia or Alzheimer's. I can appreciate the experience they are having in those moments or days of confusion and frustration. I enjoy the stories of "back in my day" and the yearning for simpler times. I am happy to help out with household chores, making breakfast or lunch, accompanying for doctors appts or shopping, or even just to be company to relax and talk to.
