I'm a working actor and currently a K-5 building substitute teacher. When I lived in NYC during college (I graduated from Fordham University in 2020 with a Bachelor's in Theatre Performance and Political Science and a Master's degree in Ethics) I used to babysit two elementary school kids for a semester. I would pick them up from school, help with homework, and chaperone them via subway to their parent's workplace. Now, I teach elementary school kids full-time as a building substitute teacher. If you're not aware of what a building sub does, my job consists of being at school each day and helping out wherever I'm needed. I could be subbing for a teacher, helping out in the classroom like a school para, or assisting on lunch & recess duty. I absolutely love working with children. I can both help stimulate them socially by playing with them or academically by teaching them concepts they're learning in school. Being a teacher, I think, uniquely qualifies me for being a babysitter.
