About Josie

For 19 of the past 20 years I have been a live in child carer, working for two different families. I joined the first of these families when their two sons were aged 3 and 1 . I looked after the boys both in the US and in Russia and Honduras where I accompanied their mother when she was posted overseas by the US Government. I joined the family with whom I now work 11 years ago when their daughter, was 7 and cared for her until she left for College last fall. I was responsible for the care of all three children, driving then to school and other activities, cooking their meals, washing and ironing their clothes and keeping their rooms tidying. On a number of occasions I was alone in charge of the children when their parents had to travel in emergencies. During the past year, since she left for College, I have acted as housekeeper for my current employers, cooking for them, maintaining the house and occasionally dog sitting.
