About Joy

Hi there, I'm Joy! I am an educator, activist, artist, and cyclist. I am an experienced caregiver and have worked as a certified nursing assistant in a nursing home, a special education educator, and in-home personal care assistant for youth with special needs. I have also cared for friends and older family members after they've had major surgeries and need extra support with ADL (activities of daily living). I am a calm and grounded presence, an empathetic listener, and am attuned to the needs of others around me. I value relationships and honoring each other's agency. I strive to learn from those around me and embody disability justice principles in the way I approach care work. I'm currently seeking a part-time care position to begin in March or April.
