About Kara

Hi! I'm a junior Political Science major, English minor attending Howard University. For all for years of high school I privately tutored two elementary-aged boys with math, reading, and writing. My duties included going over class lessons, helping with homework, checking assignments for completion and correctness, and occasionally creating small lesson plans. For the last two years of high school, I worked as an intern for the GO Project. I worked as a teacher's assistant; I assisted with the classroom and lesson plans, helped individual students, led small group discussions and kept attendance. In college, I have volunteered as a mentor and tutor for students at the DC Metropolitan High School and Coolidge High School. My strongest subject is English (both reading and writing), but I am also proficient in history, and math up to Algebra 2. I am qualified and excited to tutor your little ones!
