I'd describe my personality as friendly, empathetic, intuitive. I like caring for seniors because I enjoy spending time with people who have a lifetime of experience and wisdom. I've seen firsthand while caring for my mother with Alzheimer's how nuanced senior care can be. I think it's so important to find that balance of allowing seniors to have independence and agency, while assisting them with respect and empathy. I'm looking for a job that allows a partnership to be formed between a caregiver and senior. I would like to be a companion who can assist with day to day activities including cooking, light housekeeping, day-sitting, driving to appointments and activities, and medicine management. I started caring for seniors when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her mid 70's. In my spare time, I like to read, spend time with my dogs, cook and be with my family. One thing you should know about me is I am a retired teacher who loves helping families.
