About Karen

I have always worked with children in one capacity or another, not only because I love children, but because I believe in the power of a caring, attuned nurturer in supporting a child to reach their fullest potential. I have many years of experience with children of all ages, having worked as a babysitter, in day care, as a public school teacher, and as a mother of my own two lovely girls (now ages 17 and 19). I have a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in social work, and hold a current VA license as a special education teacher, with 10+ years working with kids K-12 in local school systems. I can work flexible hours including evenings/nights and weekends through the summer, with an adjusted schedule in the fall.
