About Karen

I have been working with children since I was a child myself. Since the age of 13 I was the neighborhood babysitter. Watching my friends babies as we got older was a joy for me. Although it's never been a full time job in my career, I regard child caretakers as one of the most important professions. I have worked the past 15 plus years as a school bus-driver. Half that time has been driving the special needs community. They are my joy. Working with them has taught me to be more understanding, patient and that empathy for a child is important. In my spare time I like to garden, bike ride , visit museums and parks and zoos, go out to see bands , spend time with my two adult daughters and occasionally rescue animals that I come across in need.
