About Katelyn

I am currently a Senior Psychology major at Point Loma Nazarene University! I have over 4 years of experience working with children including working at an elementary school as a before and after school teacher where I got to experience working with multiple different age groups from Pre-k to 5th grade. I planned weekly itineraries with daily activities that I got to lead the children in. Whether it be arts and crafts, reading time, or helping with homework, I enjoy getting to teach children and walk them through different parts of their day. I have also worked at summer camps and volunteered at church in kids ministry and youth group. As well as this, I have babysat for many different families over the years and nannied regularly for a family over the summer. Though not professional work, I also regularly care for my 3 and 5-year-old niece and nephew. Overall, I find working with children very fulfilling and love being able help them learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment.
