About Kathi

I'd describe my personality as open-minded, enthusiastic, and supportive. I like tutoring because I have the opportunity to establish a positive connection with students, and help them to achieve their academic goals. I'm looking for a job that allows me to provide meaningful educational support to students so they can reach their academic goals, in the mid-to-late afternoon/early evening time of day. I am a seasoned 25-year-veteran public school teacher. I have tutored periodically, over the years, most recently, during the past summer. In my spare time, I like to babysit my two grandsons, write, read, act, and enjoy time with friends and family. One thing you should know about me is that I am passionate about teaching, and helping young people to be excited about learning, and to find their voice. My skills include increasing reading comprehension, writing for specific purposes, and increasing confidence in oral communications.
