About Kathryn

Since I was a child, I was always involved in animal care. I helped raise 2 hunting dogs while growing up in a farm town in northern Illinois. I have spent 4 years volunteering at Paws Humane Society in Rockford Illinois. At the shelter, I was responsible for hygiene maintenance as well as feeding and exercise. I frequently cared for numerous dogs all with different personalities and temperaments. I worked primarily with elderly, special needs, and/or large breed dogs. With my Jeep, I typically will take the dogs I care for to dog parks, hikes, or walks around Sloan's Lake. (All depends on their physical abilities and social skills. For example, I'd take an elderly dog on short walks, while a hyper and social puppy will usually go on hikes and to the dog park.) I now own a Husky, Ty, who is about 2 years old and mild tempered. He is high energy and playful. I typically take him to either the dog park or on hikes each morning depending on weather conditions.
