I'm new to Care. com! I'm a certified teacher with more than 30 years of experience, retired in 2020 from full-time teaching for Mesa Public Schools. Post-retirement I worked as a reading specialist until 2022, and have been substitute teaching for the past two school years leading up through the 23-24 school year. I have a MASTER'S DEGREE in TEACHING AND TEACHER EDUCATION, as well as certification in READING, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, and ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE. I am a highly trained professional with decades of experience. The last 16 years of my career were focused on teaching ESL kindergarten, which encompasses instructing non-English speaking 5-6 years olds to read, write, and speak IN ENGLISH, plus math, science, social studies, etc. I've taught grades K thru 6. If your LITTLE ONE is struggling with reading foundations, I CAN HELP. My rate for tutoring is $38/hr. A LOT can be accomplished in one hour of one-on-one.
