About Katie

I'd describe my personality as caring, loyal and friendly. I like working with kids because they are innocent and they are the future. I'm looking for a job that allows me to apply my skills and talents, while still allowing me to grow and learn. Because of my passion for children, I pursued a degree in early childhood education at the University of Georgia. I took a position out of college working as a special education teacher specializing in autism spectrum disorders. I went on to pursue specific training in that area for years as I continued to work in that field with students of all ages, from preschool through adult, in a variety of public and private settings. I like to spend leisurely time with family and friends, curl up with my pets, play puzzle games, or go for a walk. One thing you should know about me is that I have spent the last several years as a caretaker for my mother in my home. My skills include patience, behavior management techniques, and consistency.
