About Kayla

I have always loved being around children and facilitating their learning. I knew I wanted to be an early childhood or elementary school teacher since I was in middle school, so that was what I pursued at UH Manoa. I graduated with a dual certification in early childhood and elementary education. I then moved to in Bangkok, Thailand where I taught 3rd grade at a WASC accredited international school for 2 years. In July 2019 I graduated from my master's program in international teaching and moved back to Oahu where I continued my teaching career as a full time kindergarten teacher for 3 years and have been on Big Island as a kindergarten teacher for 2 years now. I used to be a lifeguard and swim instructor for more than 6 years and was CPR and first aid trained during that time.
