About Kelly

I attended University of Pennsylvania, where I earned a Bachelors of Education in Special Education (Pre K-Grade 8) and Pre-K-Grade 4 education. I spent two years working as a special education teacher for grades 7 and 8 followed by three years working as a special education teacher in Kindergarten through third grade general-education settings. Last year, I moved back to Pittsburgh and taught in a special-education school in grades K-6 working primarily with students with emotional disturbances. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I spent about 2 years working in residential homes for adults with disabilities, where I was responsible for the care of our clients (hygiene routines, cooking, feeding, goals, data collection, etc.). I completed two student teaching placements - one in a general education first-grade setting, and the other teaching 5th and 6th grade students with learning disabilities. I am currently working with 1-year-old children in a daycare setting.
