About Kiersten

I have been providing childcare services in one form or another since my early teens. I started out by picking up babysitting jobs for family friends and discovered I loved caring for children then. I also worked as a camp counselor most summers during high school. When I went back to college, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's of Psychology with a focus on children and adolescents. For the past four years, I have been employed by Rensselaer County Dept. of Mental Health providing Care Management services to children with mental health challenges. I have been so lucky to be able to combine my love of working with children and young adults with my passion for the helping field in this role. However, I was blessed to have my first child this year, January 2023 and this has left me, like so many others, struggling to find childcare for my own infant son. I am now looking to supplement my husband's income with a position that also allows me to care for my son while he works.
