About Lanie

For over a decade, I have spent my days with numerous young minds. In 2011, I began working with a program, a language and literacy program, at a low-income preschool with multicultural families and over 12 languages in a single classroom. This sparked my interest in speech and language development and disorders. I began working at the University of Washington's Infant Hearing Lab, studying the developmental stages of speech sound awareness in infants, ages three to seven months. 2013 through 2018, I served as a preschool teacher in Seattle. There, I established my core values: the development of social-emotional skills through intentional and free play, teamwork challenges, and conflict resolution. In 2018, I became a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to pursue my passion for fostering effective language and social-emotional skills.
