About Lauren

Hello! I am a current 4th grade teacher at a Seattle elementary school, going into my third year of teaching. I recently completed my Masters in Elementary Education with a certificate in literacy teaching. I am certified to teach phonological awareness, direct phonics instruction, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Through the use of diagnostic tools, I can assess a student's literacy strengths and needs to create a targeted instructional plan. If your student in below grade level reading or just needs an extra challenge, I can get them on track! Although I specliaze in literacy, I teach mathematic skills and am very competent in elementary mathematics instruction. In addition to teaching, I I have over 1600 hours of tutoring experience in many subjects, through AmeriCorps. including math, English language arts, social studies, and science. I am reliable, hard-working, and organized. I enjoy spending time with students and especially love tutoring 1-1!
