My most recent experience lasted for almost three years, but unfortunately ended due to her need for longer-term, full-time care in a facility. I have spent several years caring for older adults who prefer not to be cared for by others and enjoy providing them with a pleasant experience. I am very patient, reliable, and creative. I also cared full-time for my own father when he was ill many years ago, and learned then how well I work with aging folks. I like to help with cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, bathing, assist with medication, transport to and from doctors appointments, and most importantly spend quality time with them and plan activities and outings as wanted or needed. Our family loved Leslie. She provided important daytime support for my mother when she first came home after a week-long stay at the hospital for pneumonia. My mother was very weak, and Leslie was able to do all that was necessary to support my mother during these difficult weeks. Leslie helped my father, also, as my parents managed their day. She was able to listen in when healthcare providers were present so that she could then help in implementing what was being recommended to speed along the recovery. Great communication. We were very fortunate to find Leslie at this time of need. She was wonderful!
