I have spent my entire adult life taking care of people. I was an RN for 30 years, first in Critical Care then in Cardiac Rehabilitation, where I became Nurse Manager. For the past 20 years I was Owner and operator of a 13 room Inn in rural Vermont. My Nursing background was extremely helpful in anticipating guests needs and making them feel comfortable. While in Vermont I collaborated with a nurse who began "My Community Nurse Project." It is a community-based patient advocacy program which connects patients with the services they need. My responsibilities included home care, light housekeeping, arranging, and transporting to and from Drs visits and lab appointments, making sure medications were up to date, dementia care, BP checks, etc. I loved doing this as it filled a niche in the community that was different from the VNA. The community response was very positive. I am happy to provide letters of recommendation.
