About Lindsay

I started babysitting when I was 13 and consistently kept the job until I was a sophomore in college. I have cared for the children of dozens of families, ranging from age 2-14. Most recently I was consistently caring for two different families: one before school hours (7-9) and one after school hours (3-6). Aside from date-night babysitting and after school care (including homework help, driving to and from activities, cooking dinner) I also have years of experience as a sleep-a-way camp counselor- essentially caring round the clock for a group of 40 girls. I am a graduate from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey with a duel BA in Communication and Theater Arts. Throughout my time in college I became very active in an organization called Embrace Kids which enlist the help of volunteers to fund raise money and donate their time to children with Cancer and Rare Blood Disorders. Currently I am a freelance Television producer and since my schedule is unorthodox it leaves me free time to be able to babysit. As far as a specific philosophy goes, I don't think that you can have one specific way to care for a child, because all children are different. I believe that each child needs to be catered to in accordance with a good balance of healthy activities (i. e getting their homework done, but also having some play time). Overall, I am probably one of the most responsible and protective people you could meet, but at the same time I will always remain a kid at heart. I love playing around outside and embarrassingly enough I can admit that I enjoy Disney movies, Harry Potter, making up new games, and most other things that are in accordance with the likings of a child. Lastly, while I am in no way fluent (yet) I am proficient in Italian. My CPR and First Aid certification has just expired, although I have no problem going in to get it renewed.
