About Lindsey

Throughout my teens and into adult life, I assisted my parents with older adults (most commonly with autism or an intellectual disability) who lived within our home. By living with us, these adults were able to live and feel more independent in their daily lives. Assistance included (but isn't limited to): Waking for the day, changing clothing and undergarments, bathing, brushing teeth, washing and doing hair, meal preparation in accordance with diet and consistency, transportation to and from appointments, community activities, shopping, day programs, etc. for both men and women ages 40-88. I currently work as a Behavioral Specialist with adults who have IDD and/or autism. I work directly with individual on appropriate reactions and coping strategies when escalated in order to de-escalate. I train Direct Support Professionals in how to use positive approaches and promote independence. I look forward to hearing if I may be able to assist you! Best, Lindsey.
