Hello! My experience caring for children goes back for as long as I can remember. As the child of a labor & delivery nurse, I grew up around babies and am convinced I have sat through enough Lamaze classes that I could comfortably deliver a baby. I have 14 years of experience that range from occasional date nights to full-time nanny positions. In addition, I have watched up to four children for extended periods of time while parents traveled. I take babysitting very seriously and take great pride in getting to know the family and children that I watch. I recently moved to Maryland from Ohio and one of the most challenging parts of the transition was saying goodbye to the families that I spent many hours with for the better part of my life. There is something truly special about being the beloved babysitter for kids that have grown up under your care. I have experience watching infants (< 3 weeks) up to tweens. I am happy watching kids of any age, but I do very much enjoy watching babies. Kids aren't all the same (thank goodness!) and I have learned many techniques over the years to meet each child where they are and for what they need. As an aside, I love crafting and I love crafting with kids. It is not uncommon for me to bring an activity to do with the kids I watch. It absolutely sets a high expectation after the first couple of times, but anything that takes up time and doesn't include sitting in front of the TV (unless it is cold and rainy and you build and watch a movie and read books) is great in my books! I am happy to provide references and background check information. I just started a new job and had to get one.
