About Maija

I really enjoy working with kids- I've been a child care provider since I was 12 years old! I've babysat for kids in my neighborhood, been a day camp counselor, and provided child care for various women's shelters in my area. On top of this, I have experience working with children who have mental health diagnoses; last summer I worked at a summer camp for children with social, behavioral, and emotional difficulties and had a great time honing my therapeutic skills. I am currently working part time at Fraser with children in their autism clinic and will soon be transferring to their mental health unit to help children with different mental health difficulties. I love being outside and staying active and I have a lot of experience facilitating outdoor activities with kids of all ages. I also enjoy being around animals and I have a car so I am comfortable running some errands and picking up/dropping off kids at school/activities!
