About Mary

I am a recently retired elementary k-3 school teacher (36 yrs.) When I wasn't teaching, I provided care and companionship for the elderly. I provided frequent visits and outings with my elderly aunt residing at Hemlock Hall in Danbury Ct. I also cared for an elderly woman with alzheimers. I provided hygiene, outings, meal prep and companionship. Most recently, I cared for my 87-year-old father (with dementia) every weekend for 2 years, followed by 6 months of full time care residing at his home until his recent passing on 7/23. I am the legal guardian for my 62-year-old disabled brother who has traumatic brain injury - residing in a local group home. I provide frequent visits to his home, special outings, and visits to my home weekly (when possible) and all holidays. He is wheelchair bound and requires assistance with using the bathroom and feeding. Kindness, compassion, empathy and patience are the necessary traits that enable me to successfully care for people of all ages.
