Hi! My name is Matthew and I'm a High School Marine Science Teacher at a private school in Tarpon Springs. I moved to the USA from the UK in 2018 after spending the previous 10 years working at sea on conservation vessels protecting various endangered species. When I first arrived in the US some friends hired me as a nanny and before I knew it was working full time for two families. I hadn't really considered this as profession before but I really enjoyed the energy from the kids, helping them with homework, soccer practice, music practice and even driving lessons. This experience inspired me to consider a new career path and I got into teaching. I'm also a Certified Kayak Guide, Soccer coach, and have my CDL Passenger as I drive the school busses for field trips. The School I work at is very accommodating to children with special needs. Around 50% of the children in my classes are on the spectrum.
