I have 4 years of classroom experience and 8 years of experience working in the childcare field. Before teaching, I tutored through high school and college for kids ages 4-12. I am currently looking for additional work while I complete my Masters in Social Emotional Learning. I am confident I can help most students feel more prepared for the classroom. I hired Melanie as a tutor and all was well. I would tip her every time she came. I was always very gracious and complimenting her on her tutoring and it absolutely went to her head. She changed timing on my son and then went on about how she is so much more experienced than other tutors - essentially wanting more money. And then after she bonded with my son she just quit. All while over text within an hour and after tutoring for my son for many sessions. If you still feel like hiring her, I would strongly suggest get her hourly rate in writing and whether she is comfortable with that. I honestly think my praises of her went to her head.
