About Melanie

I have a BA in Human Rights from Columbia and am pursuing a PT, online MSI. I've always loved kids. Kids are impressionable. I yearn to experience teachable moments with children and adolescents. I find that they are some of the most outstanding teachers. They're open-minded.. creative solutions are sometimes the best, curious.. asking plenty of thought-provoking Qs, and fun.. smiles and laughs are mutual. I started sitting at 13 and sat for multiple families nearly every weekend throughout high school. In my twenties, I worked PT days for a family with 2 y/o twins, was an after school sitter for a bright 6 y/o, and later became a FT nanny for busy 5 and 10y/o's. In nearly all positions, I drove the children to activities, prepared meals for the household, ran errands, and cleaned and organized the homes. I help at parties, stay overnight, and look after the home & pets when families travel. Plus all the time I've enjoyed with my nieces and nephews! I can't wait to meet you!
