Hello! I am an enthusiastic and diligent caregiver with 10+ years of experience caring for children from newborns to preteens. I highly value creating a safe space for children to have fun learning, growing, and expressing themselves through creative outlets. Formerly an English Teacher in Japan, I had the most wonderful opportunity teaching at an elementary school, kindergarten, and preschool. My time working abroad for 550+ students provided me with a unique set of skills and a deep understanding of childhood needs within varying environments. In addition to childcare, I have experience in caring for pediatric patients as a hospital volunteer in the radiology department. Providing a helping hand to the medical team and our patients is a role that I'm highly passionate about. My interests and hobbies include health, arts and crafts, photography, reading, and animals. I look forward to sharing my passions along with providing reliable care for the family.

Melissa is such a blessing to us! I liked her even starting from our interview process - she spent time to understand our needs, our child education style, and it was obvious that she was not only looking for a job but also a great fit with mutual respect and alignment of value and style. She showed high integrity, too. We have been working with Melissa for three weeks so far. She is always punctual, patient, and easy to work with. She also helps us appropriately shape good habits for my 4-year-old. She proactively thinks of creative ways to engage with my son, including doing yoga, teaching good table manners, encouraging better concentration during online classes, and interesting research projects during the outdoor time, etc. My son loves spending time with her a lot. We are so lucky to have her as our partner in child care!
